League recap: East Chapel Hill climbs in state rankings with win

East Chapel Hill moved up to 180 from 223 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A PAC 6. A 38-14 win over Riverside helped the Wildcats improve their standing.

Southern was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. The Spartans vanquished Person 36-7 earlier in the week.

East Chapel Hill's Ben Jones and Will Buckley have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Jones has thrown for 1153 yards this season, while Buckley, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 26 catches for 430 yards. Khris Francis from Hillside leads the league in rushing with 289 yards.

A big matchup in 4A PAC 6 this week will be when Jordan takes on Bill Renner's team. At the moment, the Falcons are in sixth, while the Wildcats are in first.

Northern took down Jordan 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
