Softball Recap: Cape Fear Christian Academy Finds Playoff Glory Versus Lawrence Academy

Cape Fear Christian Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Lawrence Academy Warriors 6-5. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Kristina Kennedy and Megan Harrold did most of the damage at the plate: Kennedy went 3-for-4 with one triple and two RBI, while Harrold went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one double. Those four hits gave Harrold a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Wangelin, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Cape Fear Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Cape Fear Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Lawrence Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-7.

As of now, neither Cape Fear Christian Academy nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
