Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Redhawks vs. Heritage Coyotes

Liberty has won seven straight games at home, while Heritage has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Liberty Redhawks will welcome the Heritage Coyotes at 5:45 p.m. Heritage took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Liberty, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Liberty blew past Centennial, posting a 41-11 win. The Redhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Heritage's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 41-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Memorial. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Warriors are ranked 31st).

Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.7 points per game. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 13-17.

Liberty took their victory against Heritage in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 50-28. Does Liberty have another victory up their sleeve, or will Heritage turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
