Soccer Game Preview: Brookland-Cayce vs. South Aiken

The Brookland-Cayce Bearcats are taking a road trip to challenge the South Aiken Thoroughbreds at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. South Aiken took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Brookland-Cayce, who comes in off a win.

Brookland-Cayce proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by three) and last Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let Dreher get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 goals the game before, South Aiken was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They came up short against Gray Collegiate Academy, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Thoroughbreds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the War Eagles are ranked 18th).

South Aiken has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. Brookland-Cayce's win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Brookland-Cayce took their victory against South Aiken in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brookland-Cayce since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
