Basketball Game Preview: Big Spring Steers vs. Cooper Cougars

The Big Spring Steers will head out to take on the Cooper Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Spring has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Big Spring is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Dimmitt 55-31 on Friday. The Steers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since December 27, 2024 (when they won 57-21).

Meanwhile, Cooper came up short against Everman on Saturday and fell 41-31. The matchup marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Big Spring's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Cooper, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Big Spring couldn't quite get it done against Cooper when the teams last played back in December of 2024 as they fell 52-40. Can the Steers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
