Basketball Recap: Jones County Takes a Loss

Jones County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Locust Grove Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 354th, while the Wildcats are ranked 147th).

Locust Grove can attribute much of their success to Hamilton Thomas, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Jones, who made all 5 shots he took for 14 points and eight boards.

Jones County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Locust Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Jones County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-36 loss against Veterans on the 18th. Locust Grove has also already played their next game, a 66-40 defeat against McDonough on the 18th.
