Basketball Recap: Peoria Takes a Loss

Peoria fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Estrella Foothills on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 71-70 to the Estrella Foothills Wolves. The Panthers were up 39-23 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Ryan Hitchcock had an outrageously good game for Estrella Foothills as he went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points and four steals. That's the most points Hitchcock has posted since back in December of 2024. Brayden Chojnowski was another key player, going 5 of 7 en route to 10 points.

Peoria's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Estrella Foothills, their record now sits at 9-12.

Peoria won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cactus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Estrella Foothills, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Deer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Deer Valley will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Estrella Foothills surely won't give up without a fight.
