Basketball Game Preview: Aiken Falcons vs. Withrow Tigers

The Aiken Falcons will face off against the Withrow Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Aiken has 16 straight victories, Withrow has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Aiken strolled past Walton-Verona with points to spare, taking the game 77-59. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked sixth in Ohio, while the Bearcats are ranked 55th in Kentucky), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Withrow was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 59-53 to Woodward.

Aiken's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.8 points per game. As for Withrow, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Everything came up roses for Aiken against Withrow when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 90-42 victory. In that contest, Aiken amassed a halftime lead of 48-25, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
