Preview: East Hartford Hornets vs. Edwin O. Smith Panthers
The East Hartford Hornets will be home for the holidays to greet the Edwin O. Smith Panthers at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for East Hartford at home against Maloney as the team secured a 61-13 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for East Hartford.
East Hartford got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Graci Hawkins out in front who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hawkins has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zoe Mercado, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Edwin O. Smith was able to grind out a solid victory over Fitch on Wednesday, taking the game 49-39.
East Hartford now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Edwin O. Smith, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.
East Hartford was taken down by Edwin O. Smith 66-29 in their previous matchup back in February. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point East Hartford was down 40-18.
