Softball Game Preview: Wynford Royals vs. Upper Sandusky Rams

The Wynford Royals will face off against the Upper Sandusky Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Wynford is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Wynford proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 14) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over Calvert.

Meanwhile, while it was Upper Sandusky who put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, it was Mohawk who put up more. The Rams fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-1. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Kenslee Swavel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Upper Sandusky saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Wengerd, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Wynford's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Upper Sandusky, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-5.
