Basketball Recap: Mauston Comes Up Short

Mauston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 67-62 heartbreaker at the hands of the Portage Warriors. If the Golden Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 69-62 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Aidan Warfield went supernova for Portage, going 8-for-16 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds. Ricky Yanez was another key player, going 5-for-9 en route to 15 points.

Mauston's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Portage, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-15.

Mauston has already played their next match (against Adams-Friendship), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Portage also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Sauk Prairie.
