Preview: Bayshore Bruins vs. Imagine School at North Port Sharks
Bayshore has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Imagine School at North Port Sharks at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bayshore has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 192 points over their last three matchups.
Bayshore pushed their score all the way to 55 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-55 bruising from Palmetto. While losing is never fun, Bayshore can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 480th, while Palmetto is ranked 125th).
The losing side was boosted by Demetrios Kimon, who scored 13 points along with six assists and three steals. The game was his ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was William Strawbridge, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Even though Imagine School at North Port has not done well against DeSoto County recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Imagine School at North Port simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat DeSoto County 79-31 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 54-20.
Bayshore has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Imagine School at North Port, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Everything came up roses for Bayshore against Imagine School at North Port in their previous meeting back in January of 2017 as the squad secured a 77-18 win. With Bayshore ahead 54-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
