Basketball Game Preview: Fredericksburg Billies vs. Davenport Wolves

Fredericksburg is on a 12-game streak of home wins, while Davenport is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Fredericksburg Billies will host the Davenport Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Fredericksburg blew past Bandera, posting a 76-43 win. The Billies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Davenport posted their closest victory since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They skirted past Navarro 51-49. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Panthers are ranked 341st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Davenport is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Fredericksburg, their win bumped their record up to 25-6.
