Softball Recap: Lower Cape May Comes Up Short

Lower Cape May lost to Our Lady of Mercy Academy back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tigers lost 22-11 to the Villagers. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

E'Leyna Koerner made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Bailey Leininger was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Lower Cape May's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Our Lady of Mercy Academy, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lower Cape May will host Philadelphia Performing Arts at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Our Lady of Mercy Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Egg Harbor Township at 4:00 p.m.
