Football Recap: Coppell's Undefeated Season over After Four Games + How To Watch

Coppell was the 31-24 winner over Guyer when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cowboys received a blow on Friday as they fell 35-21 to the Wildcats. The loss was the Cowboys' first of the season.

When it comes to explaining why Coppell lost, don't look at Carter Zingelmann. Despite the final result, he threw for 204 yards and a pair of TDs, and also caught one touchdown.

Kaedyn Cobbs continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Guyer, rushing for 176 yards and four scores, while also throwing for 44 yards and one touchdown. With that strong performance, Cobbs is now averaging an impressive 114 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Carter Morgan, who gained 127 total yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Coppell fell to 3-1. As for Guyer, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Coppell and Guyer should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Cowboys (ranked 44th) will meet Little Elm (ranked 475th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Guyer will take on Hebron at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (15 vs. 77).
