Basketball Recap: Wellborn Takes a Loss

Wellborn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 90-67 to the Pleasant Valley Raiders. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (58), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Wellborn lost, don't look at Ollie Boot. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 14 on his way to 23 points and eight assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Williams, who posted ten points.

Wellborn's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Pleasant Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Wellborn didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 89-85 defeat against Jacksonville Christian Academy on the 9th. Pleasant Valley has also already played their next contest, a 56-45 loss against Sand Rock on the 6th.
