Baseball Recap: Festus Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Festus waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Perryville Pirates get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-6 last Wednesday.

Festus' victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brady Nolen, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. Brayden Good was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Festus hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.

Festus' win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Perryville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Festus will head out to face off against Windsor at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Perryville, they will welcome Delta at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
