Dexter and Bucksport are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2015, but not for long. The Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Golden Bucks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dexter has given up an average of 29 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Dexter is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Stearns, who was ranked fourth at the time (Dexter was ranked 14th). The Tigers took a blow against the Minutemen on Friday, falling 58-20. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-20.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bucksport). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat St. John Valley 64-26. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Golden Bucks with their most commanding win of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Dexter and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Bucksport, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Dexter beat Bucksport 38-30 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
