Sterling won the last time they faced Orion and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Golden Warriors were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Chargers. Considering the Golden Warriors have won ten matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Layla Wright was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Wright was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Lily Martinez was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Mya Lira also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
