Ryle posted their closest win since October 19, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Simon Kenton Pioneers 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.
Ryle got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The final score came out to 25-12, 34-36, 25-27, 25-16, 15-6.
Morgan Heater paced Ryle's offense, picking up 26 kills. Heater got some help from Clare Holtzapfel and her 31 assists. Heater was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.
Ryle is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Simon Kenton, they moved to 6-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Ryle and Scott will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Simon Kenton, they will be playing at home against Beechwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
