Basketball Recap: Harding Academy Skates Past Trezevant with Ease

Harding Academy's contest on Friday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Trezevant Bears 56-21. The Lions pushed the score to 38-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bears had little chance of recovering from.

Leading Harding Academy to victory were Bella Rose Austin and Brynne Miller. Austin dropped a double-double with 21 points and 17 rebounds, while Miller almost dropped a triple-double with 16 points, 11 boards, and nine steals. Those 17 rebounds gave Austin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Thompson, who posted nine points.

Harding Academy has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 45 points this season. As for Trezevant, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Harding Academy beat the Bears by a score of 40-16 on Monday.
