Baseball Game Preview: Mount Juliet Golden Bears vs. Green Hill Hawks

Mount Juliet and Green Hill are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Golden Bears will square off against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Mount Juliet fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Ravenwood on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 9-6 to the Raptors. The Golden Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hayden Finney was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mount Juliet saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob James, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Green Hill didn't have quite enough to beat Summit on Saturday and fell 3-2.

Mount Juliet's loss dropped their record down to 5-17-1. As for Green Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-5.

Mount Juliet might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from Green Hill in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Golden Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
