Even though the Batesville Bulldogs have not done well against the Rushville Lions recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Batesville strolled past Rushville with points to spare, taking the game 54-36. The win made it back-to-back wins for Batesville.

Among those leading the charge was Sophie Gesell, who scored 16 points along with six assists and five steals. Another player making a difference was Lydia Haskamp, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

When it comes to explaining why Rushville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Leonie Boyer. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Boyer also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Carly Senour was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Batesville is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Rushville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Batesville will square off against Greensburg at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. Greensburg has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 318 points over their last five matchups. As for Rushville, they will head out on the road to take on Connersville at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Connersville is on a four-game streak of home losses, Rushville a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
