Basketball Recap: Gladstone Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Gladstone hadn't done well against Ishpeming recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Gladstone Braves walked away with a 53-46 victory over the Ishpeming Hematites. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Braves.

Gladstone's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eva Pankonien, who went 6 of 9 to rack up 16 points along with seven boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Pankonien a new career-high in shooting accuracy (67%). Lillie Johnson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Gladstone pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 34.3% in those games and 27.5% outside of them. As for Ishpeming, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3.

Gladstone wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-25 victory against Menominee on the 7th. As for Ishpeming, they have also already played their next contest, a 44-30 defeat against Negaunee on the 7th.
