Soccer Game Preview: Bishop Carroll vs. Penn Cambria

The Bishop Carroll Huskies will head out on the road to square off against the Penn Cambria Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Penn Cambria took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Bishop Carroll, who comes in off a win.

Bishop Carroll took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Richland as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was some much needed relief for Bishop Carroll as it spelled an end to their five-match losing streak.

Meanwhile, Penn Cambria fought the good fight in their overtime match against Westmont Hilltop on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hilltoppers by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Penn Cambria can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 452nd, while Westmont Hilltop are ranked 189th).

Bishop Carroll's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Penn Cambria, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Bishop Carroll skirted past Penn Cambria 1-0 when the teams last played back in August. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
