Softball Recap: Ten Straight Home Victories for Conotton Valley

Conotton Valley won against East Canton on Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Rockets beat the Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Maddison Kelley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Williams, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Gretchin Rolli was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Conotton Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 15 consecutive matches.

Conotton Valley pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tuscarawas Central Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11.
