Basketball Recap: Ramsey Beats Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City for Their Third Straight Win

Ramsey hadn't done well against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Ramsey Rams came out on top against the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats by a score of 54-47. The victory was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won three games in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ramsey to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jenni Mezo, who went 6-for-9 en route to 19 points and three steals. What's more, Mezo also posted a 67% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2023. Kelsey Hayes was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds.

Ramsey was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Macee Rodman, who posted 15 points in addition to five boards and four steals. The matchup was Rodman's third in a row with at least 15 points. Haley Doty also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Ramsey's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-14. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-20 record this season.
