Basketball Game Preview: Mishawaka Cavemen vs. Warsaw Tigers

The Mishawaka Cavemen are taking a road trip to challenge the Warsaw Tigers at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Mishawaka has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Warsaw will arrive with 11 straight wins.

Last Friday, Mishawaka took a blow against Goshen, falling 81-49. While losing is never fun, the Cavemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the RedHawks are ranked 118th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Warsaw challenged Elkhart on Saturday. Warsaw put the hurt on Elkhart with a sharp 65-40 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Warsaw pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Mishawaka, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Mishawaka came out on top in a nail-biter against Warsaw in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 56-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mishawaka since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
