Softball Recap: Northside Christian Comes Up Short

Northside Christian came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Boca Ciega Pirates, falling 21-5. The matchup marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Summer Mack made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee White, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3.

Even though they lost, Northside Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Northside Christian moved to 4-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Boca Ciega, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside Christian will challenge Admiral Farragut at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northside Christian has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Boca Ciega, they will venture away from home to square off against Gulf at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Boca Ciega's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
