Softball Recap: South Webster Takes a Loss

South Webster was the 9-8 winner over Portsmouth West when they last played one another on Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Jeeps fell 9-5 to the Senators on Thursday.

South Webster got a big performance out of Makayla Raynard, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Raynard has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Claxon, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

South Webster dropped their record down to 9-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Portsmouth West, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-11.

While South Webster had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
