Softball Recap: Boston English Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boston English). They put the hurt on the New Mission Titans with a sharp 26-10 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won five in a row.

Jayana Williams looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). Those hits were her first of the season.

At the plate, Amirah Gholizadeh was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing seven bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Carmen Garcia was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing six bases while going 1-for-2.

Boston English pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.1 runs over those games. As for New Mission, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boston English will take on Excel/Burke at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. As for New Mission, they will square off against Fenway at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
