Baseball Recap: Valley Triumphs

Valley not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 31st (when they won 16-1). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Fort Lupton Bluedevils a 15-0 shutout. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bluedevils, too.

Valley let Seth Kissler and Alfonso Medina run wild. Kissler got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Medina went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Medina has posted since back in March. Brody Loveland was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs.

Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Valley now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Fort Lupton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Valley will head out to challenge University at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fort Lupton, they will venture away from home to square off against Greeley Central at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.31 runs per game on average), something the Bluedevils will no doubt try to take advantage of.
