Baseball Recap: Pellston Comes Up Short

Pellston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Johannesburg-Lewiston Cardinals, falling 13-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 4-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Pellston's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Johannesburg-Lewiston, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pellston will challenge Bellaire at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Johannesburg-Lewiston, they will head out to square off against Harbor Springs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
