Soccer Game Preview: Silver Creek vs. Santa Teresa

Silver Creek is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Santa Teresa is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Silver Creek Raiders will welcome the Santa Teresa Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Silver Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season.

Last Wednesday, Silver Creek sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Live Oak. Damian Alvarez had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble the Raiders got from the refs.

Jayden Enriquez and Aiden Barragan scored both of Silver Creek's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Meanwhile, Santa Teresa kept a clean sheet against Ann Sobrato on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Saints were the better team in the second half.

Something new happened on Wednesday as Daniel MorenoOrellana saw his first action of the season, playing 76 minutes against Ann Sobrato. MorenoOrellana made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Santa Teresa is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those six contests. As for Silver Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3-2.
