Football Game Preview: Central Catholic Fighting Irish vs. Rocky River Pirates

The Central Catholic Fighting Irish are taking a road trip to face off against the Rocky River Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Central Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last five games.

Central Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Wapakoneta 41-7. The Fighting Irish might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Rocky River had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against the Bucks by a score of 48-41.

Central Catholic better keep an eye on Joey Disalvo. He was instrumental in Rocky River's win, rushing for 72 yards on only six carries, while also catching one touchdown. Those 72 rushing yards gave Disalvo a new career-high.

Rocky River was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 267 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Central Catholic's record now sits at 9-4. As for Rocky River, their record is now 11-2.

Central Catholic strolled past Rocky River in their previous matchup back in November of 2015 by a score of 37-23. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Pirates' Evan Nugent, who picked up 207 receiving yards and three scores.
