Leesville waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They pulled ahead with a 47-46 photo finish over the Hicks Pirates. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Wampus Cats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while the Pirates are ranked 49th).

Leesville has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Hicks, they moved to 28-9 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Leesville has already played their next game (against Pleasant Hill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hicks wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 46-41 win against Fairview on the 14th.
