Northgate took a 31-point defeat the last time they faced off against Villa Rica, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wildcats 12-9. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Vikings were the better team in the second half.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Northgate's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Jet Clark was the leader with 2.5. Northgate got some further help from Brysen Davies: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 14 total tackles.

Northgate has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. As for Villa Rica, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
