Baseball Recap: South Central Comes Up Short

Kouts hit South Central with a six-run sixth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Satellites lost 13-2 to the Mustangs & Fillies. The Satellites were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs & Fillies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

South Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Howard, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Brayden Williamson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

South Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Kouts, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Looking ahead, South Central will look to defend their home field on Monday against Michigan City at 4:30 p.m. The Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.85 runs per game on average), something the Satellites will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Kouts, they will take on Winamac at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
