Basketball Game Preview: Sebring Blue Streaks vs. Lake Gibson Braves

The Sebring Blue Streaks are taking a road trip to face off against the Lake Gibson Braves at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Sebring came up short against Avon Park and fell 87-74. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (63), the Blue Streaks still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lake Gibson, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 77-67 win over Kathleen on Thursday.

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in A'Darrion Willis and Rashard Kelly. Willis had a great game and posted 30 points. Meanwhile, Kelly was balling out in the loss, putting up 20 points.

Lake Gibson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Sebring, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Everything came up roses for Sebring against Lake Gibson when the teams last played back in February of 2021, as the team secured a 92-59 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sebring since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
