Football Game Preview: Blake Yellow Jackets vs. Spoto Spartans

The Blake Yellow Jackets will venture away from home to challenge the Spoto Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Blake hasn't scored more than seven points for six games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Blake saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wharton.

Meanwhile, Spoto has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 14.75 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They were outmatched by East Bay and fell 51-8. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Indians are ranked 54th).

Blake's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Spoto, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Blake won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, slipping by Spoto 13-12. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellow Jackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
