Volleyball Recap: George Walton Academy Comes Up Short

George Walton Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Purple Hurricanes 25-14 in the first set.

George Walton Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-9, 15-6.

George Walton Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Monroe Area, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-8.

George Walton Academy has already played their next match (against Social Circle), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Monroe Area, they will head out to challenge Athens Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
