Softball Game Preview: Colfax Bulldogs vs. Asotin Panthers

Colfax is a perfect 10-0 against Asotin since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Bulldogs will square off against the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Colfax and seven for Asotin.

Colfax lost 13-3 to Liberty on Tuesday.

Colfax saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Huntley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Huntley has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played.

Meanwhile, Asotin came up short against Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna on Tuesday and fell 10-6.

Asotin's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Colfax, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Asotin's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Colfax has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. It's a different story for Asotin, though, as they've only averaged .314. Will they be able to contain Colfax's hitters?

Colfax came out on top in a nail-biter against Asotin in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 13-12. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
