Volleyball Recap: Birchwood Comes Up Short

Birchwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Bruce Red Raiders. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Birchwood couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Bruce a tough time in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 30-28, 25-9.

Caiden Lindemans paced Birchwood's offense, picking up seven kills. Lindemans got some help from Alyiah Glaze and her nine assists. Lindemans was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Birchwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Bruce, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Coming up, Birchwood will venture away from home to square off against Cornell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bruce, they will take on Chequamegon in a tournament on Saturday.
