            Softball Recap: Hillsboro/Central Valley H-CV Burros vs. Red River Roughriders        
        
		
        
        
            There's no place like home for Hillsboro/Central Valley, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Thursday. They walked away with  a   4-1  victory over the Red River Roughriders  on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the H-CV Burros also won the last time the pair played  back in April of 2021.

 Kyah Chenault spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on nine hits. She has been consistent  recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Kailee Kittelson was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That  run marked the first that  she  scored this season. Another player making a difference was  Peyton Quam, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Hillsboro/Central Valley's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Red River,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-3.
 Coincidentally, Hillsboro/Central Valley and Red River will both be playing Grand Forks Central the next time they take the field. The H-CV Burros will head out to face the Knights at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday, while the Roughriders will  host them  at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
