Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask IMG Academy Blue). They put the hurt on the Riverdale Country Falcons with a sharp 17-2 win on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Ascenders considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Henry Melmed looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, IMG Academy Blue let Cole Miyashiro and Adam Zheng run wild. Miyashiro scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Zheng went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Zheng a new career-high. Tommy Nicholson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

IMG Academy Blue always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .677. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

IMG Academy Blue moved to 7-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, IMG Academy Blue will take on Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Riverdale Country, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Horace Mann at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
