Basketball Recap: Foothill Piles Up the Points Against Sunrise Mountain

Foothill came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 63-34 victory over the Sunrise Mountain Miners. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-42 back in January.

Foothill was led to victory by Stephanie Ezugha and Caysea Winn. Ezugha dropped a double-double with 13 points and 14 boards, while Winn posted 16 points. Ezugha has become a key player for Foothill: the team is 7-3 when she posts at least ten rebounds, but 5-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Hanna Heiselbetz, who put up nine points.

The win got Foothill back to even at 12-12. As for Sunrise Mountain, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-18.

Looking ahead, Foothill will welcome Rancho at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sunrise Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
