Baseball Game Preview: Bridgeport Bulls vs. Decatur Eagles

For the second straight game, Bridgeport will face off against Decatur. The Bulls will challenge the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bridgeport has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with 21 straight defeats, while Decatur will come in with five straight wins.

Bridgeport fell victim to Decatur and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 14-0 to the Eagles.

For Decatur's part, Raymundo Contreras made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Contreras a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases. He is becoming a predictor of Decatur's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 10-13-1 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Brody Kelley was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper House, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Bridgeport's loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Decatur, the victory got them back to even at 13-13-1.
