After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northwestern Area, Groton was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Redfield Pheasants 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2023.

Groton was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-13, 25-16.

Liz Fliehs was the offensive standout of the game as she had five digs and 16 assists.

Groton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 15 consecutive matchups.

Groton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Redfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

Groton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Redfield, they will venture away from home to take on Wolsey-Wessington at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wolsey-Wessington is coming into the game with nine straight victories at home, so Redfield will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
