St. Benedict at Auburndale got themselves on the board against Madison Central on Thursday, but Madison Central never followed suit. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Madison Central Jaguars 2-0. The two-run effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The result came thanks to Jorja Wheeler's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
