Preview: Triton Central Tigers vs. Lawrenceburg Tigers
The Triton Central Tigers will be playing at home against the Lawrenceburg Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Triton Central has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell to Kokomo 47-43.
Despite the loss, Triton Central saw an underclassman step up: Maryrose Felling scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hailey Harris, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Even though Lawrenceburg has not done well against East Central recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Lawrenceburg snuck past East Central with a 37-33 win. The win was just what Lawrenceburg needed coming off of a 71-48 defeat in their prior match.
Lawrenceburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aubree Labazzo, who scored 17 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Knigga, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Triton Central's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5. As for Lawrenceburg, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8.
Triton Central beat Lawrenceburg 68-58 in their previous meeting back in January of 2019. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lawrenceburg's Juliana Kemper, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Triton Central to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
